Position: Asst. Manager Sales and Operations

Location: Posted at Chennai and willing to travel in PAN India

Reporting: Mineral Head

Purpose of the position:

The role is responsible for independently managing sales and operational activities across various locations, including ports, to fulfil the requirements of the organisation and its customers. The incumbent should be capable of functioning as the key point of contact for sales and operations with minimal support from the reporting superior, while ensuring the timely and efficient execution of all assigned activities. The role involves developing and maintaining solid relationships with key clients and establishing a strong client-facing presence as a recognised and trusted representative of the organisation.

It also includes coordinating, supporting, training, and guiding team members in sample collection, draft surveys, sample preparation, and other related activities for metals and minerals, including coal and coke. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating with internal teams, clients, port authorities, and other stakeholders, addressing operational challenges, ensuring compliance with established procedures and customer requirements, supporting business development opportunities, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible to handle operations and develop business independently of respective commodities.
- Willing to travel to client location, plant and ports to develop new business and provide confidence to the client on work execution.
- In hand knowledge of Inspection of metal and minerals cargo like Coal and Coke, Minerals and nonferrous cargo
- Coordination and support to the global team related to metals and minerals operation across the Globe.
- Assist own branch and whole region as and when needed for proper operational execution of respective commodities.
- Responsible to explore new client base,



maintain existing client coordination and develop the Company’s business related to metals and minerals.
- Responsible to manage and drive the operation team on 24 x7 basis and even in emergency.
- Responsible for training to the downline on all operational work as per the Org/National/International protocol
- Responsible to drive the safety culture within the team members and maintain the organisation QHSE norms.
- Responsible to raise the “STOP WORK AUTHORITY” in case of unsafe condition at workplace.
- Responsible for daily coordination with the customer to understand and satisfy their operational needs at workplace.
- Responsible for arrangement of all the necessary compliance for plant and port related operations.
- Responsible for all the documentation related to operation
- Able to calculate the new project cost related to inspection and testing.
- Responsible to assist the Sr. Mgmt. on Business development with experience, available information and continuous support
- Responsible to arrange the external calibration of the necessary Equipment’s related to operation
- Responsible to collect updated information related to Vessel and dispatch operations and necessary communication to the Sr. Mgmt. and Back-office personnel.
- Be actively involved in the detection and evolution of the non-conformity at various stages of the field executions.

Desired Minimum Qualifications and experience: Minimum Graduate preferably with science background and working experience of 8 to 10 years on the similar field. Proven track record of business development and operation of metals and minerals cargo.

Desired Personality Profile: Hard working, Flexible, Collaborator, sufficient leadership skill to manage a diversified team. Business development skill and client requirement knowledge is must.

Desired Technical Skills: Exceptionally good knowledge of field work like sampling, sample preparation of Ores and Minerals and metals, Vessel operation, reporting to the inspection jobs sufficient IT skill, Time Management, Man management, Basic knowledge of QMS.
