Assistant Manager IT Procurement

Reports To: Senior Manager - IT

Experience Required: 6–8 years (IT/Technology procurement)

Role Purpose

Manage end-to-end procurement of IT hardware, software, SaaS, and technology services across group entities, ensuring cost efficiency, vendor compliance, and adherence to procurement policy and audit/ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Manage full PR-to-PO lifecycle for IT category spend (hardware, software licensing, SaaS platforms, cloud services, telecom, security solutions)
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors; maintain approved vendor lists and performance scorecards
- Draft and issue RFQs/RFPs; run competitive bidding processes and lead commercial negotiations
- Build and manage relationships with OEMs, resellers, and licensing partners (e.g., Microsoft, Autodesk, Oracle, cybersecurity vendors)

Contract & Licensing Management

- Review and negotiate contract terms, SOWs, and license agreements (EA/LSP structures, subscription models, SaaS terms)
- Track contract renewals, license utilization, and true-up/true-down opportunities
- Manage vendor disputes and commercial risk assessments

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policy, delegation of authority, and ISO/audit requirements
- Maintain documentation standards for audit readiness (PR/PO records, approvals, BOQs)




- Flag and escalate non-standard procurement requests or policy deviations

Cost & Reporting

- Build cost comparison models and TCO analyses to support sourcing decisions
- Prepare management reports, savings trackers, and category spend dashboards
- Support budget planning and forecasting for IT category spend

Stakeholder Management

- Partner with IT, InfoSec, and business stakeholders to translate technical requirements into procurement specifications
- Support cross-entity procurement coordination across group companies .

Requirements Experience & Qualifications

- 6–8 years of procurement experience, with a significant focus on IT/technology category sourcing
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, or related field (CIPS/relevant certification a plus)
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) for PR/PO workflows

Skills

- Robust negotiation skills across hardware, software, and services categories
- Solid understanding of licensing models (subscription, perpetual, EA/LSP structures)
- Advanced Excel skills (cost modelling, comparison workbooks, dashboards)
- Excellent stakeholder management and written communication skills
- Familiarity with ISO compliance and audit processes in a procurement context

Preferred

- Exposure to construction/real estate or large multi-entity group structures
- Experience with GRC/ISMS, cybersecurity, or enterprise software procurement
