Purpose / Objective:

The Area In-charge - Smart Metering (Projects) is responsible for overseeing the execution, monitoring, and coordination of Smart Metering projects within the assigned geographical area. The role focuses on ensuring timely project delivery, operational excellence, stakeholder coordination, compliance adherence, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions to support the organization's Smart Metering business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

- BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or related discipline.
- MBA or Project Management certification preferred.

Work Experience:

- 8 to 14 years of experience in Power Distribution, AMI, Smart Metering, Electrical Infrastructure, EPC, or Utility Projects.
- Experience in project execution, contractor management, and stakeholder coordination preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Execute and monitor Smart Metering projects within the assigned area.




- Ensure timely installation, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
- Track project progress against timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, utilities, vendors, contractors, and local authorities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, statutory, and contractual requirements.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation actions.
- Support deployment of AMI and Smart Metering technologies.
- Utilize project management tools for progress tracking and reporting.
- Resolve site-level issues and ensure uninterrupted project execution.
- Lead and supervise field engineers, supervisors, and contractor teams.
- Maintain project documentation and stakeholder communications.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across project activities.
