Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute API test cases for functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
- Perform manual and automated API testing using industry-standard tools.
- Validate request/response payloads, business rules, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain API automation frameworks.
- Conduct database validation and data integrity testing.
- Analyze API logs, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with development teams for resolution.
- Integrate API test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure API quality, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
- Create and maintain test plans, test scripts, and testing documentation.

Required Skills
- 3 to 8 years of experience in Software Testing with a focus on API Testing.
- Strong experience in testing REST APIs and SOAP Web Services.
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, Insomnia,



or similar API testing tools.
- Experience in API automation using Rest Assured (Java), Karate Framework, or Python-based frameworks.
- Robust understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, status codes, request methods, and API design principles.
- Experience with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and Basic Authentication.
- Good knowledge of JSON, XML, and schema validation.
- Proficiency in SQL and database testing.
- Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD processes.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microservices Architecture.
- Knowledge of API performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Basic understanding of security testing concepts like OWASP API Security.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
