Our client, a renowned energy consulting firm, is looking for a Downstream Analyst to join its research and advisory team in India. The role covers refined products, petrochemicals, hydrogen and low-carbon fuels, and splits time between market research and client consulting work.

This role suits someone early in their career who wants hands-on ownership of market data, learning from experienced industry specialists.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage market databases, starting with petrochemicals.
- Monitor downstream market trends, current projects, policy changes and decarbonisation developments.
- Produce research reports and market updates on refining, petrochemicals, hydrogen and low-carbon fuels.
- Build analysis and presentations for consulting assignments.
- Take part in client meetings and business development with senior team members.
- Travel for client work when needed.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Business Management or a related field.
- Hands-on experience building commercial tools, such as pricing models, market databases or analytical dashboards.




- Knowledge of petrochemical markets is preferred. Experience with Python or data analytics is an advantage.
- Clear, structured writing, and the ability to turn complex data into simple insights.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver on time under changing priorities.
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Comfortable working independently and within a team.
