Role Description This is a full-time, in office Accountant role based in Kolkata. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing vouchers, invoices, and bills, processing payments and receipts, and reconciling bank statements. The role involves assisting in budgeting, monitoring expenditures, and preparing periodic financial and management reports for internal review and statutory purposes. The Accountant will also support audit activities, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations, and coordinate with internal teams, external auditors,
and stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including ledger management, bank reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, along with the ability to work with spreadsheets, reports, and financial databases.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of relevant taxation rules, statutory compliance, and basic regulatory requirements applicable to trade and MSME sectors.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills to review financial data and identify variances or discrepancies.
- Candidates should possess transparent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA Inter) will be an advantage.
- Prior experience in accounting within trade associations, NGOs, or MSME-focused organizations will be beneficial.
