Enterprise Patching Governance Advisor / Architect (Enterprise Patching Governance Program)
Location: Bangalore/Pune (hybrid Opportunity)
Long-Term Contract Opportunity
Engagement Overview
Client needs experienced, generalist architects who can define the governance model, drive adoption of ServiceNow-based patching processes, and engage a wide range of stakeholder groups across Client’s Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) organisation.
Role Purpose
Working title: Enterprise Patching Governance Advisor / Architect.
The individuals in this role act as trusted advisors and program shapers. They will define how patching is governed,

coordinate ServiceNow tooling and process adoption, and work directly with the many technology groups across who are responsible for patching their own estates — helping them understand where they stand against SLAs and how to close the gap.
Required Experience & Skills:
5+ years' experience in infrastructure automation within global enterprises, operating at architect level.
Track record delivering large-scale automation projects across core data centre technologies.
Solid grounding in core infrastructure: networks, servers, operating systems, containers, and databases.
Experience with ITSM processes and tooling — particularly ServiceNow — covering more than ticketing and incidents: vulnerability management, CMDB, CSDM, and software asset management.
Understanding of reporting and compliance processes.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity, threat analysis, and vulnerability analysis.
A track record of implementing or improving enterprise-level patch processes is a robust plus.
Advanced communication, consulting, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage and influence a diverse community of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Define the governance process for patching across the DB estate.
Guide and support the implementation of patching processes within ServiceNow (SNOW).
Lead extensive stakeholder engagement across multiple groups within GTI.

Own and run the patching maturity model — engaging with technology groups that need to patch, interviewing them to understand their current state and how close they are to meeting SLAs.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in patching processes.
Coordinate across public cloud, private cloud, databases, mainframe, and end-user estates — working out how to test changes across all of these within a 1–2 week window without destabilising the environment.
Position Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) as one part of the overall solution — helping DB assemble the full picture and build the roadmap for the next stages of the program (not just delivering AAP in isolation).
What This Role Is Not
Important for screening candidates — Client was explicit about the profile they do NOT want:
Not deep hands-on technical specialists — Client does not need someone who can explain in detail how to patch a Linux server.
Not an implementation role — the focus is thought leadership and program shaping, with a strong people focus.
Not software supply chain security experts — deep knowledge of tools like GitHub is not required. The focus is on vendor-driven vulnerabilities and patching, not code supply chain security.
Working Style & Soft Skills
Generalists who can speak credibly with specialist teams without needing deep specialist knowledge themselves — able to engage "on the same level" across many technology domains.
Comfortable building and telling a coherent story/roadmap for the wider patching program, not just executing a single workstream.
Confident interviewing and assessing multiple stakeholder groups to gauge maturity and SLA performance.
Consultative, people-focused style rather than command-and-control delivery leadership.
