AVP OPERATIONS RECORDS MANAGEMENT UNIT (RMU)

SMFG India Credit Co. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Operations professional to lead the Records Management Unit (RMU) at a national level.

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for managing and overseeing the Records Management Unit, including coordination with operations units and storage vendor partners for the efficient storage, maintenance and retrieval of records/files.

The role will also be responsible for managing the insurance claims and refund process, ensuring operational efficiency, adherence to SLAs, solid controls and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Records Management Unit (RMU) and Insurance Claims operations.
- Coordinate with operations units and external storage/vendor partners for record storage and retrieval.
- Ensure adherence to defined TATs, SLAs and operational metrics.
- Minimize operational losses through effective controls, monitoring and preventive/corrective actions.
- Manage insurance claim processing, settlements and refund processes.
- Analyze trends, MIS and operational data to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation.
- Drive implementation of new products, processes, policies and operational best practices.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of performance metrics and SLAs to Management.
- Provide strategic guidance to Team Leaders to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, including partners and vendors.
- Ensure vendor performance,



SLA adherence and effective relationship management.
- Coordinate with branches across the country and provide training on process changes and operational requirements.
- Support audit reviews, RCR activities and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all procedures and processes remain updated and aligned with internal policies, statutory requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Drive strong risk and control mechanisms across RMU operations.
- Manage team performance, employee engagement, development plans and attrition.
- Lead continuous process and quality improvement initiatives across the unit.

Candidate Profile

- 8+ years of relevant experience in Operations, preferably within BFSI / Banking / NBFC / BPO environments.
- B.Com degree from an affiliated university.
- Proven experience in managing multiple teams and complex back-office operations.
- Experience in managing large-scale operations with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim procedures, processing and control mechanisms.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and inventory control management.
- Strong knowledge of operational risk, risk reviews and internal controls.
- Experience in records management, document management, file movement, storage and retrieval will be an advantage.
- Strong execution and multitasking capabilities with the ability to effectively delegate responsibilities.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in MIS, trend analysis and preventive/corrective action planning.
- Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and people-management skills.
