ROLE SUMMARY
Project Controls Manager: Leads project controls activities, ensuring effective cost management, scheduling, and performance monitoring to support successful project delivery. The role drives standardization, reporting excellence, commercial awareness, and continuous improvement, while providing strategic insights for decision-making and business profitability. Extensive experience in power generation, renewable energy, hydrogen-ready facilities, carbon capture, substations, and Balance of Plant (BoP) projects is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and understand project contracts, requirements, and key documentation.
- Establish and implement project controls procedures and methodologies.
- Define project and departmental objectives related to schedule, cost, and budget.
- Ensure project schedules, staffing plans, and control documents are maintained.
- Apply and optimize corporate standards, workflows, and reporting practices.
- Oversee cost reporting, forecasting, and performance control processes.
- Monitor project KPIs and identify deviations from approved targets.
- Recommend and drive corrective actions to improve project performance.
- Provide accurate and timely project status reports to management.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to align objectives and resolve issues.
- Ensure financial performance, contractual compliance, and planning effectiveness.
- Support risk mitigation and commercial strategies with Project Management.
- Build solid client relationships and ensure alignment with project goals.
TECHNICAL SKILL
- Bachelor/masters in engineering
- Minimum of 15 years to 20 + Years of relevant professional experience, with a proven track record in project controls within engineering projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, and cost analysis.
- Proven experience in directing planning and scheduling activities, including schedule development, monitoring, control, and performance analysis.
- Experience in contract administration, including claims management, variation orders, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of contract structures (lump sum, reimbursable, framework agreements)
- Skilled in commercial risk identification such as; scope changes, productivity losses, resource allocation inefficiencies and implementing mitigation measures
- Knowledge of client billing processes, invoicing cycles, and supporting timely revenue recognition.
