Student Counsellor / Admission Counsellor

G-TEC EDUCATION, Trichy is looking for energetic and career-oriented Student Counsellors to join our team.

The candidate will be responsible for handling student enquiries, understanding their career and training requirements, recommending suitable courses, conducting regular follow-ups and converting enquiries into admissions.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle enquiries received through phone calls, walk-ins, website, social media, Google and other lead sources
- Counsel students and parents regarding career-oriented courses and training programs
- Understand the student's educational background, interests and career goals
- Recommend appropriate courses based on student requirements
- Clearly explain course syllabus, duration, certification, fees and training methodology
- Handle fee discussions and admission-related queries professionally
- Schedule demo classes and counselling sessions
- Conduct regular phone and WhatsApp follow-ups with prospective students
- Convert qualified enquiries into admissions
- Maintain accurate lead and follow-up records
- Update enquiry status and admission details regularly
- Coordinate with trainers regarding demo classes, course availability and batch schedules




- Follow up with old leads and inactive enquiries
- Work towards monthly counselling and admission targets
- Maintain professional relationships with students and parents
- Support student admission documentation and onboarding

Required Skills

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Tamil with working English communication
- Positive counselling, convincing and negotiation skills
- Comfortable communicating over phone and WhatsApp
- Strong follow-up discipline
- Basic computer and MS Excel/Google Sheets knowledge
- Ability to maintain accurate lead records
- Target-oriented and responsible approach
- Ability to work as part of a team

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in Education, Training Institutes, EdTech, Admissions, Student Counselling, Academic Counselling, Inside Sales, Telesales or Customer Relationship roles will be preferred.

Freshers with excellent communication skills and an interest in counselling/sales may also apply.

Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month + performance incentives
