The Open Society
Bengaluru
Job Type: Full-time
Please only apply if you're genuinely interested in this. We'd rather hear from fewer people who actually mean it than a lot of people who don't.About usThe Open Society is a members' social club in Bengaluru. Not an app, not a networking platform, not a building. One fixed group of 150 people and four rituals every weekend, built for people who want a real circle of friends instead of leaving it to luck. Our whole idea: everyone else introduces you to strangers. We give you the same 150 people, every week, until they're not strangers anymore.About the roleWe're hiring the person who runs the club on the ground: the schedule, the venues, who sits where, who becomes a Regular. It's a hands-on, full time role built around Friday, Saturday and Sunday events, not a desk job, and there's real room to shape how it's done. What you'll do:Plan and run roughly 130 events a year, including a weekly drop-in evening, twice-monthly seated dinners, weekly outdoor activities, and two flagship dinners a yearBook venues, manage the weekly calendar, and keep it all moving without dropping anythingSeat members at events and decide who becomes a RegularBring your own ideas to how events feel and run,
not just execute a fixed formatWho we're looking forThis is for someone early in their career, or still studying, who's genuinely into events, not just capable of running them. College and university students are welcome and encouraged to apply. If any of this sounds like you, we want to hear from you:You plan things for fun. Trips, parties, dinners, whatever, you're the one who ends up organising itYou've got a creative or artistic streak, and an eye for how a room feels, not just whether it runs on timeYou're organised enough to actually see something through, start to finishYou're genuinely plugged into how people socialise right now, what gets people to actually show up somewhereYou're outgoing and comfortable in a room full of people you don't know yetYou're up for trying something that hasn't been done before, and changing it if it doesn't workWe're not looking for a long resume in hospitality or event management. We're looking for someone ready to take a real leap, learn fast, and grow into this as the club grows. You'll be working directly alongside the founder, with real creative ownership over how this club actually feels, from the ground up.
