SCM / Sub-Contracting Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

About The Role We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Supply Chain Management (SCM) Professional with 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, specifically within the Aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will be stationed directly at our outsourced job work vendor locations in Bangalore. Their primary responsibility is to oversee vendor manufacturing operations, track production schedules, conduct rigorous stage-wise quality inspections, manage raw material distribution, and ensure seamless sub-contracted execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Vendor-Site Operations Management:
- Be physically present at designated outsourced job-work/vendor locations in Bangalore industrial belts to monitor daily production activities.
- Ensure outsourced partners adhere strictly to production timelines, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

- Material &

- Inventory Management:
- Coordinate the flow of raw materials (specifically for aerospace applications, e.g., specialized alloys, aluminum, titanium, composites) from the main plant to vendor locations.
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials and finished goods at the vendor facility to prevent production bottlenecks.

- Quality &
- Stage Inspection:

- Conduct rigorous in-process (stage-wise) and final inspections of manufactured components as per engineering drawings, GD&T;, and aerospace compliance standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Validate first-off samples, check dimensional accuracy, and sign off on quality clearances before parts move to the next stage of manufacturing.




- Raise and manage Rejection Reports / Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) at the vendor end and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

- Purchase &
- Sourcing Support:

- Handle local purchase requirements, follow up on purchase orders (POs), and track material reconciliations.
- Evaluate vendor operational capacity and report on supplier performance metrics (Quality, Delivery, Cost).

- Reporting &
- Documentation:

- Maintain daily MIS reports on production progress, material status, scrap rates, and inspection results.
- Coordinate smoothly between internal production/quality teams and external vendor management.

Candidate Requirements &

- Qualifications

- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Technology.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of core experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Purchase, and Sub-contracting / Job-work operations within a manufacturing setup.
- Industry Background: Mandatory prior exposure to the Aerospace, Defense, or High-Precision Machining sectors.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, sheet metal, or assemblies.
- Expertise in stage-wise quality inspection, blueprint reading, and using precision measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.).
- Familiarity with aerospace raw materials and material test certificates (MTC).
- Working knowledge of purchase procedures, ERP systems, and supply chain logistics.

- Location Knowledge: Must possess sound familiarity with Bangalore industrial areas (Peenya, Jigani, etc.) and be comfortable working out of vendor sites.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and assertive communication skills to handle third-party vendors effectively.
