Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain MySQL databases on AWS RDS and Amazon Aurora.
- Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
- Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Configure and maintain Multi-AZ deployments, read replicas, and Aurora high-availability solutions.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, locking, deadlocks, replication lag, and connectivity problems.
- Optimize SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, and database parameters.
- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls.
- Support database migration, replication, and cloud modernization activities.
- Work with development and DevOps teams to improve database reliability and performance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database incidents in production environments.
- Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.

Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of experience in MySQL Database Administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS RDS for MySQL and Amazon Aurora MySQL.
- Proficiency in MySQL architecture,



storage engines, transactions, and database internals.
- Experience with SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery.
- Experience with replication, read replicas, failover, and high availability.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services such as CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, and CloudTrail.
- Experience with database security, access management, and encryption.
- Positive troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting production databases and critical applications.

Good-to-Have Skills
- AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
- AWS CLI and automation using Shell scripting or Python.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps environments.
- Experience with AWS Performance Insights and Enhanced Monitoring.
- Knowledge of Aurora Global Database and cross-region disaster recovery.
- AWS certifications related to databases or cloud infrastructure.
