About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and people-oriented HR Manager to manage end-to-end human resource functions for a growing newspaper and media organization. The ideal candidate should understand the fast-paced nature of the media industry and be capable of managing employees across editorial, sales, marketing, circulation, production, administration, and support functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Staffing

- Manage end-to-end recruitment for editorial, sales, marketing, circulation, production, and corporate roles.
- Develop manpower plans based on organizational requirements.
- Source, screen, interview, and onboard suitable candidates.
- Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline.

2. Employee Management

- Manage employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns.
- Improve employee engagement, motivation, and retention.
- Maintain effective communication between employees and management.

3. Performance Management

- Establish and monitor KRAs/KPIs for different departments.
- Coordinate performance appraisals and review processes.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend development plans.

4. HR Policies & Compliance

- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Maintain employee records, HR documentation, attendance, leave, and related data.




- Coordinate payroll and ensure timely resolution of salary-related concerns.

5. Training & Development

- Identify training requirements across departments.
- Coordinate employee training, workshops, and development programmes.
- Support leadership development and career-growth initiatives.

6. Media Industry Workforce Management

- Understand workforce requirements specific to newspaper operations.
- Coordinate HR requirements for editorial, reporters, journalists, advertising sales, circulation, distribution, printing, digital media, and support teams.
- Support recruitment during new editions, expansion, and business-growth initiatives.

- Ability to manage multiple departments and priorities.
- Solid negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace and HRMS platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced media environment.

Qualification

MBA/PGDM in Human Resources / Master's degree in HR or a related field preferred.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in Media, Newspaper, Publishing, Advertising, FMCG, Sales-driven organizations, or other fast-paced industries will be preferred.

Key Performance Areas

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
