About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly driven Head – Fleet, Delivery & Mobility Operations to lead and manage the complete fleet, driver-partner, mobility and delivery operations in Chennai.
The role will be responsible for building and managing a scalable technology-enabled mobility and delivery operation covering two-wheelers, cars, autos and other commercial vehicles, along with the associated driver/partner application and operational platform.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in fleet operations, mobility, last-mile delivery, driver-partner management, dispatch, technology-enabled operations and P&L; management.
Key Responsibilities1. Fleet Operations
- Lead end-to-end fleet operations across two-wheelers, cars, autos and other applicable vehicle categories.
- Plan vehicle deployment based on demand, geography and operational requirements.
- Monitor fleet utilization, productivity, availability and downtime.
- Develop systems for vehicle allocation, tracking, maintenance and compliance.
- Control fleet operating costs, fuel expenses and maintenance expenditure.
- Establish preventive maintenance and vehicle inspection processes.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with applicable statutory and operational requirements.
2. Driver / Delivery Partner Operations
- Lead the complete driver and delivery-partner lifecycle.
- Develop driver onboarding, verification, training and activation processes.
- Monitor driver attendance, availability, productivity and performance.
- Establish performance KPIs for driver-partners.
- Develop incentive, engagement and retention programs in coordination with Management.
- Monitor driver discipline, customer service standards and operational compliance.
- Build a strong field-supervision structure for daily operations.
3. Mobility & Delivery Platform
- Own the operational performance of the driver/partner mobile application and delivery platform.
- Work closely with the technology/product team or external technology partners for application development and improvements.
- Ensure smooth driver onboarding, login, availability, trip acceptance and delivery workflows.
- Monitor application adoption and operational issues.
- Identify technology gaps affecting drivers, customers and operations.
- Coordinate resolution of application, GPS, payment, trip allocation and system-related issues.
- Provide operational requirements and feedback for future application releases.
4. Dispatch & Trip Management
- Establish a centralized dispatch and fleet-control mechanism.
- Monitor live vehicle and driver availability.
- Optimize driver and vehicle allocation.
- Monitor trip acceptance, cancellations, response time and completion rates.
- Implement real-time escalation mechanisms for operational issues.
- Develop processes for peak-hour demand management.
5. Delivery Operations
- Manage last-mile and on-demand delivery operations.
- Establish delivery zones, operating procedures and service standards.
- Monitor delivery turnaround time, successful delivery percentage and cancellation rates.
- Improve route planning and delivery productivity.
- Develop processes for failed deliveries, customer escalations and operational exceptions.
6. Technology & GPS Integration
- Monitor GPS and real-time fleet tracking systems.
- Ensure accurate vehicle and driver location visibility.
- Work with technology teams on API, GPS, mapping and application integrations.
- Develop operational dashboards for real-time monitoring.
- Use technology and analytics to improve fleet utilization and driver productivity.
7. Business & P&L; Management
- Develop fleet and mobility operating budgets.
- Monitor revenue, operating costs and contribution margins.
- Track cost per trip, cost per delivery and fleet utilization.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational profitability.
- Prepare monthly business reviews and management reports.
- Drive initiatives to improve revenue per vehicle and driver productivity.
8. Team Leadership
- Build and lead the Fleet & Mobility Operations team.
- Define organizational structure, roles, KRAs and KPIs.
- Recruit and develop fleet managers, operations managers, dispatchers and field executives.
- Establish daily, weekly and monthly operating reviews.
- Build a strong performance-oriented operational culture.

Candidate ProfileEducation
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Logistics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Operations, Logistics, Business Management or related field will be an advantage.
Experience
- 10–15+ years of experience in fleet, mobility, transportation, logistics, last-mile delivery or technology-enabled operations.
- Strong experience managing large driver/partner networks and multi-category vehicle fleets.
- Experience with bike, auto, car or commercial vehicle operations will be preferred.
- Experience managing a driver/partner application or technology-enabled operational platform is highly desirable.
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced operations environment is preferred.
