Role Overview The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, accounting, reporting, budgeting, controls, and compliance of the assigned properties/business units. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cost management, strong internal controls, statutory compliance, and timely financial decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations across assigned properties.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Trial Balance, and other financial reports.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, profitability, working capital, and cash flows.
- Ensure proper accounting of hotel revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and inter-company transactions.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to management for business decisions.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets for properties/departments.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
- Prepare forecasts and financial projections based on business performance.
- Identify areas of cost overruns and recommend corrective measures.
- Support management in achieving financial and profitability targets.

3. Cost Control & Revenue Monitoring

- Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, departmental costs, food & beverage costs, payroll costs, and operating expenses.
- Review daily revenue reports and ensure proper reconciliation of revenue from all departments.
- Ensure effective controls over cash, credit card transactions, receivables, inventory, and other financial assets.
- Work closely with Operations and F&B; teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability.

4. Internal Controls & Audit

- Establish and strengthen financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs,



and financial guidelines.
- Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and identify control gaps.
- Coordinate internal, statutory, tax, and external audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.

5. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with consultants and statutory auditors wherever required.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns and financial documentation.
- Keep management updated on significant changes in financial and taxation requirements.

6. Accounts Receivable & Payable

- Monitor outstanding receivables and ensure timely collection from customers, corporates, travel agents, OTAs, and other business partners.
- Review ageing reports and follow up on long-outstanding balances.
- Ensure timely processing and payment of vendor invoices as per approved procedures.
- Maintain appropriate controls over vendor payments and advances.

7. Inventory & Asset Management

- Monitor inventory accounting and stock controls across properties.
- Review physical stock verification and reconciliation reports.
- Ensure proper accounting and control of fixed assets.
- Monitor capital expenditure and ensure expenditure is within approved budgets.

8. Team Management

- Lead, guide, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
- Set clear responsibilities and performance expectations for team members.
- Review team performance and ensure timely completion of financial activities.
- Coordinate with Unit GMs, HODs, Corporate HR, Operations, and other departments.

9. Management Support & Business Partnership





- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Highlight financial risks, control issues, unusual transactions, and significant variances.
- Participate in business reviews and management meetings.
- Support new hotel openings, renovations, projects, and other business initiatives from a finance perspective.

Qualifications
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance / M.Com / equivalent qualification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting is required.

Experience
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Prior experience in the hospitality/hotel industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling multiple properties / multi-unit operations will be an advantage.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, audits, taxation, and internal controls.
