Company Description WE for Women Empowerment is a POSH compliance and workplace safety organization supporting companies, institutions, factories, MSMEs, hospitals, NGOs, startups, and community organizations across India. Since 2021, the organization has helped build safe, respectful, and legally compliant workplaces under the POSH Act, 2013, with over 6,000 individuals trained and more than 100 organizations served. WE for Women Empowerment provides services such as POSH awareness sessions, Internal Committee training, External Member support, policy drafting, audits, and gender sensitization and POCSO training.
The team focuses on practical, simple, and workplace-centered guidance that helps employees and Internal Committee members understand appropriate behavior, complaint handling, inquiry procedures, and legal responsibilities. Based in Punjab with a special focus on North India, the organization partners with employers who want to go beyond paper compliance and build cultures rooted in dignity, respect, accountability, and legal awareness.
Role Description The External Member will serve on Internal Committees (IC) of client organizations to support compliant handling of sexual harassment complaints under the POSH Act. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in IC meetings, advising on inquiry procedures, ensuring timelines and documentation meet legal standards, and guiding members on confidentiality and principles of natural justice.
The role involves reviewing POSH policies, providing inputs on workplace safety systems, and contributing to POSH awareness and gender sensitization sessions when required.
The External
Member will collaborate with organizational stakeholders to strengthen POSH compliance, offer objective perspectives on cases, and help build a culture of dignity and respect at the workplace. This is an in office role based in Ludhiana, requiring regular visits to client locations as per engagement needs.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the POSH Act, 2013, relevant labor and workplace safety laws, and principles of natural justice.
- Experience in handling workplace grievances, conducting or advising on inquiries, and managing sensitive documentation and confidentiality.
- Ability to facilitate trainings or awareness sessions on POSH, gender sensitization, and appropriate workplace behavior.
- Excellent communication, listening, and impartial decision-making skills, with the capacity to engage respectfully with diverse stakeholders.
- Background in law, social work, psychology, human resources, or related fields is preferred; prior experience as an External Member or POSH trainer is an advantage.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful workplaces.
- Willingness to work on-site in Ludhiana and travel to client organizations as needed.
