Role Summary
- Conduct data privacy reviews and support program implementation.
- Communicate and liaise regularly with different internal and external stakeholders, including outside counsels.
- Work mostly independently but must have good collaborative skills to work in a group.
- Strong process management skills and process improvement.
- Conduct research on data privacy regulatory requirements, internal process and related matters.
- Support individual rights requests and regulatory enquiries.
- Regular presentations about project updates to leadership and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities aligned to the role
- Draft, design, align and improve compliance processes and templates to implement different data privacy laws and other requirements that come into effect.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders to understand and collect process requirements and advise on approaches.
- Act as a project manager for new initiatives and introduce measures for existing processes and ad-hoc initiatives.
- Conduct data privacy assessments, such as local country risk assessments, privacy reviews and/or DP Impact Assessments, to ensure compliance with data privacy program and regulations.
- Support Ventures & Acquisitions due diligence activities, and policy administration.
- Understand the contractual principles required to draft, review, and assist in negotiation data privacy schedules for contractual arrangements.
- Follow and keep track of legal changes, news and developments related to data privacy laws at global level, analyze them including their impact and prepare internal materials and communications.
- Draft internal support documents.
- Identify and support subject access/individual rights request responses in alignment with internal policies and procedures.
- Support senior data privacy counsels.
- Understand relevant Accenture policies and their application to the data privacy area, and Accenture’s business operations, regulatory environment and potential data privacy risks in regulated areas.
- Understand the different CORE (Compliance, Operations, Regulatory & Ethics) areas and the surrounding issues and statutory regulation. Build credibility and effective relationships internally within Legal team.
- Develop training for team members, Legal and other Accenture functions on data privacy processes or regulatory requirements.
- Serve as tier 1 support to inquiries about data privacy.
- Hold a law degree and have 3-4 years of experience in data privacy.
- Understand regulatory principles governing data privacy at a global level.
- Understand process flows and metrics.
- IAPP certifications, such as CIPP/E or similar, are a plus.
- Effectively manage stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Fluent in English, with strong oral and written skills, and competent in delivering presentations.
- Productive in conducting legal research, including leveraging GenAI technology for the same.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI is a plus.
- Exercise reasonable judgment to apply company policy and procedure in risk mitigation and timely escalate issues to the line manager.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and analytical skills.
