We’re looking for a hands-on analytics and data science leader to work directly with the founders, shape our analytical capabilities, and build the team behind them.

Orcana is an AI-native technology company building the intelligence layer for life sciences, starting with commercial pharma.

We turn repeatable analytics and data science workflows into reliable software. Our hybrid architecture combines deterministic analytics, specialized agents, and GenAI to help teams investigate complex questions and produce explainable recommendations, with human experts directing the work.

Pharmaceutical companies and real-world data providers already use our specialized agents and enterprise platform licenses. We’ve surpassed seven-figures in revenue, are bootstrapped and profitable, and are closing our institutional seed round to realize explosive growth.

What you’ll own

- Lead analytical projects from business problem and methodology through data preparation, modeling, validation, and actionable recommendations.
- Translate expert workflows into reusable analytical modules and specialized agents, working closely with product and engineering.
- Own analytical quality. Establish standards for code review, data checks, statistical validity, reproducibility, and evaluation of agent outputs.
- Work directly with customers to clarify ambiguous questions, challenge assumptions, and ensure results address the decisions they need to make.
- Hire and mentor analysts and data scientists while staying hands-on with code, methods, and difficult technical problems.

Who you are

- 8+ years in analytics and data science, with substantial commercial pharma experience in life sciences consulting,



a pharma analytics organization or GCC, or a fast-paced technology environment.
- Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills. You can inspect complex datasets, debug analytical pipelines, review code, and translate business logic into maintainable implementations.
- Depth across several commercial pharma applications, such as marketing mix and ROI measurement, HCP segmentation, field effectiveness, patient journeys, forecasting, or market access analytics.
- Strong statistical and modeling judgment, including regression, experimentation, causal inference, clustering, and time-series analysis. You understand assumptions, confounding, data leakage, and when a method is inappropriate.
- Experience with pharma data such as prescription and sales feeds, longitudinal claims, HCP/HCO affiliations, CRM activity, and promotional engagement. You know how coverage gaps, reporting lags, and business definitions affect conclusions.
- Experience building reusable workflows with version control, automated validation, and enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
- A record of developing strong teams and explaining complex findings clearly to business and technical stakeholders. You bring urgency, sound judgment, and ownership when the answer is uncertain.
- Deep GenAI experience is optional. The ability to learn quickly and translate analytical expertise into reliable, human-guided AI workflows is essential.
