An Internet Technician installs, maintains, and repairs internet connections for homes, offices, and businesses.
Main work
Install fiber-optic or broadband connections.
Connect and configure routers, modems, Wi-Fi devices, and cables.
Visit customers' homes/offices to set up internet.
Check and fix problems such as no internet, slow speed, or Wi-Fi issues.
Test fiber/cables and identify faults.
Replace damaged cables or equipment.
Skills needed
Basic knowledge of computers, networking, and Wi-Fi
Freshers can often enter this field, especially with 10th/12th, ITI, or Diploma qualifications.
Ability to use hand tools
Basic troubleshooting skills
Good communication with customers
Willingness to travel
A driving licence/two-wheeler can be helpful for field work
