Alpha applications, including Quotesurance (insurance quote estimation), Compsurance (workers'

compensation quote estimation), and future automation tools. InsurTech Alpha was founded with a

singular vision: to transform the insurance industry through technology and innovation.

We are looking for a mid-level QA Engineer to own quality for Quotesurance, our insurance

quoting platform. This is a hands-on role covering both manual testing and test automation, ideal for

someone who wants to build a QA function from the ground up in a startup workplace.

Roles And Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end QA for Quotesurance across web and API layers
Design and execute manual test plans for current features and releases
Build and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, regression)
Identify, document, and track bugs through resolution
Test integrations with third-party vendors and carrier systems
Define QA processes, standards, and workflows from scratch
Collaborate directly with engineering and product on release readiness
Participate in sprint planning and provide QA effort estimates




Set up and maintain CI/CD test pipelines with the engineering team

Key Requirements:
3+ years of prior experience in QA with both manual and automation testing
Prior experience building test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or

similar)
Solid understanding of API testing (Postman, REST Assured, or similar)
Prior experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira preferred)
Comfortable working independently and owning QA end-to-end
Working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript is mandatory
Prior experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin or similar)
Comfortable writing SQL queries for database/data-integrity testing
Basic familiarity with AWS or another cloud provider, and CI/CD pipelines
Startup mindset: adaptable, self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity
Robust written communication for documenting test cases and bugs
Exposure to testing AI/LLM-powered features, or performance/load testing, is a plus but not

required
Insurance or fintech industry experience is a plus, not required
Excellent communication skills and a go-getter attitude.
