Key Responsibilities
Dispensing: Accurately dispense prescription drugs, IV admixtures, and medical consumables according to doctor orders.
Patient Safety: Check prescriptions for correct dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, track expiration dates, and manage specialized or emergency drug supplies.
Controlled Substances: Maintain strict logs and secure storage for narcotics and regulated medications.
Collaboration: Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and healthcare teams regarding patient drug therapy.
Patient Counseling: Instruct discharged patients or caregivers on proper medicine use, side effects, and storage.
