Key Responsibilities

Research Leadership & Scholarly Output

• Lead and sustain a research programme with consistent high-impact, first-author/senior-author publications and solid citation record.

• Serve as recognized PhD Guide/Supervisor; build a pipeline of doctoral and post-doctoral scholars in the department.

• Secure major extramural grants (ICMR, DST, AICTE, CSR, industry) as Principal Investigator; drive multi-institutional and international collaborative research.





• Provide strategic direction for the department's research agenda, innovation pipeline, and IP portfolio.

Academic & Institutional Governance

• Provide oversight of curriculum, assessment standards, and academic quality across UG/PG programmes.
Mentor Associate and Assistant Professors; chair departmental and institutional academic committees.
Represent the institute in NAAC/NBA/UGC accreditation processes, university boards of studies, and qualified/statutory bodies.
Serve as external examiner, thesis evaluator, or expert reviewer for other institutions as nominated.

Institution-Building & Policy Contribution
Contribute to institutional strategic planning, resource mobilization, and large-scale infrastructure/centre-of-excellence proposals.
Engage with national policy, skilled associations, and public health initiatives relevant to physiotherapy.
Champion mentorship culture and succession planning within the department.
