About The Role
MediaKind is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Global Tax team. This pivotal role will support tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and related tax activities across our global organization, with a particular emphasis on international operations.
The Senior Tax Accountant will collaborate closely with the Global Tax team, regional Finance departments, Accounting, FP&A;, Legal, and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance. This role also aims to strengthen and streamline our tax processes, leveraging automation and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
This position is ideal for a professional with strong tax accounting fundamentals, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to manage responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions within a agile global environment. The successful candidate will be proactive, analytical, and adaptable,
capable of handling complex tax issues and supporting the company's growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACA, or similar are preferred.
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in tax accounting or corporate tax, gained through public accounting, multinational corporations, or a combination of both.
- Proven experience with indirect tax compliance, corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional or multinational tax environments is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of international tax concepts, including withholding tax, transfer pricing, and tax treaties.
- Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and cultures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, global setting.
- Enthusiasm for leveraging technology and automation to optimize tax processes.
Responsibilities
Indirect Tax Management
- Manage US sales and use tax compliance functions, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee international VAT, GST, and local transactional filings, maintaining compliance across jurisdictions.
- Review monthly indirect tax reconciliations for accounting ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor evolving nexus laws to ensure proper registrations and compliance obligations are met.
- Maintain and optimize tax automation software integration with ERP systems to streamline processes.
Tax Accounting, Compliance & Reporting
- Support corporate income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with external advisors for tax return preparations and filings.
- Assist in the global tax provision and financial reporting processes, including calculations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and review tax account reconciliations, workpapers, and documentation necessary for tax reporting and audits.
- Support the tax components of local statutory financial statements and facilitate audits as needed.
- Coordinate tax payments, installments, refunds, assessments, and notices, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Manage withholding tax compliance, treaty relief, and reclaim processes, including residency certificates and related documentation.
- Assist with transfer pricing documentation, intercompany charges, and compliance requirements such as Local File disclosures.
- Support international tax audits, inquiries, and notices by collaborating with internal teams and external advisors.
Process Improvement, Controls & Technology
- Maintain a comprehensive global tax compliance calendar, tracking filing, reporting, and payment deadlines.
- Standardize tax workpapers, account reconciliations, templates, and checklists to enhance consistency and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline tax accounting, compliance, and reporting processes.
- Develop and document internal controls related to tax processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Global Tax team to optimize workflows and technology use.
