Job Description – Vice President, Business Head (Investments)

Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Overview

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Vice President – Business Head (Investments) to lead business origination, transaction execution, and portfolio management for a leading private credit / investment platform focused on the real estate sector.

The role will be responsible for sourcing and closing high-quality investment opportunities, managing strategic client relationships, leading a high-performing investment team, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Origination & Relationship Management

- Develop and execute business development and origination strategies aligned with investment objectives.
- Originate structured debt and AIF investment opportunities with real estate developers.
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, investment bankers, IPCs, and strategic intermediaries.
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of investment opportunities.

Transaction Execution

- Lead end-to-end transactions from origination through financial closure.
- Structure financing solutions in collaboration with investment teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms, transaction structures, security packages, and documentation.
- Coordinate with legal, technical, valuation, and other advisors.
- Drive transactions to successful closure while maintaining appropriate governance and risk standards.

Investment Evaluation

- Review financial models, project cash flows, and investment analyses.
- Evaluate project viability, credit risks, and transaction structures.
- Prepare and present investment proposals and recommendations to the Investment Committee (IC) .

Portfolio Management

- Monitor portfolio performance, project progress, covenant compliance, and repayment schedules.
- Identify emerging portfolio risks and recommend mitigation strategies.




- Work with borrowers on restructuring, refinancing, or resolution initiatives where required.
- Provide periodic portfolio performance updates to senior management.

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead and manage a team of 5–7 investment professionals .
- Drive business performance through effective planning, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence.

Industry & Stakeholder Management

- Represent the organization at relevant real estate, investment, and financial-services forums and networking events.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the real estate and investment ecosystem.
- Work closely with senior leadership on business strategy, investment pipeline, and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, risk, and operations teams for transaction execution and portfolio oversight.

Candidate Profile

- 10+ years of experience in real estate finance, structured credit, private credit, AIFs, investment banking, NBFCs, or real estate investment platforms.
- Demonstrated track record of originating, structuring, and closing real estate financing transactions .
- Strong relationships within the real estate developer and investment banking ecosystem .
- Experience handling transactions in the range of ₹20 crore to ₹100 crore .
- Strong understanding of structured finance, real estate lending, credit evaluation, and investment structuring.
- Experience in portfolio monitoring and asset management.
- Proven experience in team leadership and multi-stakeholder management.

Preferred Qualifications

- CA / CFA / MBA from a reputed institution.
- Solid commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience presenting investment opportunities to senior management and Investment Committees.
- High standards of integrity, professionalism, and execution excellence.
