Cafe Assistant Job Description Job Title: Cafe Assistant / Barista Position Type: Full-Time / Part time Reports To: Cafe Manager / Shift Supervisor Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests, taking orders, preparing high-quality beverages and light snacks, and keeping the cafe space clean and inviting. You will play a vital role in providing a warm, memorable experience for every customer. Key Responsibilities Greet customers warmly as they enter and provide excellent customer service. Take accurate customer orders, operate the Point of Sale (POS) register, and process cash/card transactions. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and smoothies. Assist with food preparation, plating snacks, pastries, and light meals according to health and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness throughout the cafe, including tables, counters, seating areas, and the kitchen area. Restock inventory, ingredients, and retail displays as needed throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and waste management guidelines strictly.



Address customer queries or complaints efficiently and escalate to the manager when necessary. Requirements & Qualifications Prior experience in a cafe, restaurant, or customer service role is highly preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques or barista training is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a welcoming personality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle rushes calmly. Basic math and cash handling skills for operating the register. Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 kg.
