Job Overview

We are looking for Merchandisers – Fabric & Garments to join our merchandising team in Surat.

We are hiring candidates across Junior and Senior levels. The role will involve different levels of responsibility across fabric sourcing, garment merchandising, buyer coordination, costing, sampling, vendor management, production follow-up, quality coordination, documentation and order execution.

Candidates with experience in Textile, Fabric Merchandising, Garment Merchandising, Apparel Merchandising, Export Merchandising, Buying House, Trading or Sourcing environments are encouraged to apply.

Junior Merchandiser – Fabric / TextileExperience

1–3 years in Fabric Merchandising, Textile Merchandising or the Textile Industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in managing customer orders from confirmation to dispatch.
- Prepare and maintain order sheets, purchase records and merchandising documents.
- Update daily order status and follow-up reports.
- Coordinate with greige fabric suppliers and processing units.
- Follow up for dyeing, printing, finishing and fabric delivery.
- Maintain fabric swatches and sample records.
- Check basic fabric specifications such as GSM, width, composition and shade.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding deliveries and commitments.
- Compare vendor quotations and maintain vendor records.
- Assist in sourcing new fabric suppliers.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and Stores teams.
- Monitor production progress against delivery schedules.
- Maintain Time & Action (T&A;) sheets.
- Prepare daily merchandising MIS reports.
- Update ERP / Excel with order progress.
- Maintain buyer communication records and merchandising documentation.




- Coordinate with the Quality team for fabric inspections and approvals.
- Follow up on rejected fabric and replacement material.
- Escalate production or delivery delays to the Senior Merchandiser.

Required Skills

- Basic understanding of woven and knitted fabrics.
- Understanding of dyeing, printing and finishing.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong follow-up ability.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel – VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and basic formulas.
- Basic ERP knowledge preferred.
- Attention to detail and good documentation skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and grow in textile merchandising.

Senior Merchandiser – Garments / ExportExperience

3–5 years of experience in Garment Merchandising, preferably in Export, Trading, Buying House or Sourcing environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end garment merchandising from order confirmation to shipment.
- Handle buyer communication and order execution.
- Prepare garment costing covering fabric, trims, CM, printing, embroidery and packing.
- Coordinate sampling, approvals and production activities.
- Coordinate with job workers, embroidery units, printers and finishing houses.
- Manage and maintain Time & Action (T&A;) calendars.
- Monitor production progress and ensure on-time shipment.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for AQL checks, PDI and test reports.
- Handle export documentation and coordinate with logistics partners.




- Develop and manage vendor networks for men's, women's and kids' wear.
- Coordinate with production, quality, vendors and internal teams to resolve execution issues.
- Monitor order status and proactively address delays or bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate merchandising and buyer communication records.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of garment construction and apparel production.
- Good understanding of fabric, trims, printing, embroidery and finishing.
- Robust garment costing and CM rate calculation skills.
- Excellent buyer and vendor coordination skills.
- Strong production follow-up and T&A; management.
- Knowledge of export merchandising and shipment processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP and email communication.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines independently.
- Willingness to travel for factory visits and vendor meetings.

Educational Qualification

Candidates with a Bachelor's / Master's / Diploma in:

- Textile Engineering
- Textile Technology
- Fashion Technology
- Apparel Merchandising
- Fashion / Garment Technology
- Related Textile or Apparel disciplines
