School Nurse – Job Description

Position: School Nurse

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide basic first aid and immediate care to students and staff.
- Assess and respond to minor illnesses, injuries, and health emergencies.
- Maintain accurate health records and medical documentation of students.
- Administer medicines as per school policies and authorized instructions.
- Monitor students with existing health conditions and provide necessary support.
- Conduct basic health check-ups and support school health programs.
- Coordinate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns.
- Maintain and manage the school medical room, medicines, and first-aid supplies.
- Handle health emergencies and coordinate with hospitals or emergency services when required.
- Promote hygiene, health,



and wellness awareness among students.
- Maintain confidentiality of students’ medical information.

Qualification:

- GNM / ANM / B.Sc. Nursing or equivalent nursing qualification.
- Valid nursing registration as applicable.

Experience:

- Freshers/Experienced candidates can apply.
- Experience in a school, pediatric, clinic, or hospital setting is an advantage.

Skills:

- Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient approach toward children.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly.
- Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
