About the Role

Next XR is looking for Full Stack Developers with 2 years of professional experience who are confident working across both frontend and backend development.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with React.js and Node.js, along with a good understanding of APIs, databases, Git workflows, and modern web development practices. You will work closely with the engineering and product teams to build, enhance, and maintain scalable web applications.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development

- Develop responsive and user-friendly web applications using React.js.
- Build reusable components using functional components and React Hooks.
- Work with state management solutions such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query, or Context API.
- Convert UI/UX designs into responsive and accurate web interfaces.
- Optimise application performance, loading speed, and overall user experience.
- Write and maintain unit/component tests using tools such as Jest and React Testing Library.

Backend Development

- Develop and maintain scalable Node.js applications using Express.js or similar frameworks.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or equivalent.
- Implement authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
- Handle API errors, validations, security, and performance considerations.
- Write integration tests and maintain reliable backend functionality.

General Engineering

- Participate in code reviews and follow clean, maintainable coding practices.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Debug and resolve application issues across frontend and backend.




- Use Git and follow standard branching and pull-request workflows.
- Contribute to technical documentation and development processes.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning and stand-ups.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 2 years of professional experience in full-stack/web application development.
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript (ES6+).
- Good working knowledge of React.js, including Hooks, component lifecycle, and component composition.
- Strong experience with Node.js and Express.js or a comparable backend framework.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and API integration.
- Experience working with at least one database such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Understanding of frontend state management.
- Familiarity with TypeScript is preferred.
- Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser fundamentals.
- Comfortable with Git, GitHub/GitLab, branching, pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts.
- Basic understanding of web security concepts such as XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, and secure authentication.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
