Area Sales Head – Franchise Sales Executive
Position: Area Sales Head (ASH) Department: Sales / Franchise Expansion Job Type: Field Sales + Franchise Business Development
About the Role
The Area Sales Head will be responsible for finding and acquiring new franchise partners in the assigned area. The person will identify potential franchise owners, explain the business opportunity, arrange meetings, handle questions, negotiate, and close the franchise. After the franchise is confirmed, the ASH will also make sure the new franchise starts properly and performs well during its initial 6 months with the support of the Franchise Development Manager (FDM).
Key Responsibilities
- Find New Franchise Opportunities
- Identify areas where new Genericart franchise stores can be opened.
- Study cities, towns and local markets to find good locations.
- Check competition and existing pharmacy presence.
- Identify areas with good business potential.
- Generate Franchise Leads
- Find potential people who are interested in starting a franchise business.
- Generate 5–10 new leads every day.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential franchise partners.
- Use local business contacts, associations, pharma networks, exhibitions, entrepreneurs and other sources for leads.
- Meet & Understand Potential Franchise Partners
- Contact potential franchise partners and understand their requirements.
- Check their location, investment capacity and business interest.
- Shortlist genuine and suitable prospects.
- Maintain around 30–40 active prospects in the pipeline.
- Explain the Franchise Business
- Meet qualified prospects personally.
- Explain the Genericart franchise business model.
- Explain investment requirements, products, business process and company support.
- Answer their questions and explain how the franchise business works.
- Convert Leads into Franchise Partners
- Follow up regularly with interested prospects.
- Handle objections related to investment, competition and business returns.
- Negotiate and build trust with potential franchise owners.
- Complete the franchise registration and payment process.
- Ensure all required documents are completed.
- Support New Franchise Opening
After a franchise is confirmed:
- Connect the franchise owner with the FDM.
- Help create the shop-opening plan.
- Follow up on store readiness and documentation.
- Support the team in opening the store within the required timeline, normally around 60 days.
- Monitor New Franchise Performance
For the first 6 months:
- Ensure the franchise places its initial stock order.
- Help with product category selection.
- Monitor monthly purchase/business performance.
- Identify problems in underperforming stores.
- Work with the FDM to improve the franchise's early performance.
- Manage FDM Team
- Guide and assign work to Franchise Development Managers.
- Review their onboarding and shop-opening activities.
- Conduct regular review meetings.
- Join field visits when required.
- Reporting
Maintain regular reports related to:
- New leads generated
- Customer/prospect meetings
- Field visits
- Franchise closures
- Franchise onboarding
- Territory expansion
- New franchise performance
