Civil Engineer – Railway & Civil Construction

Designation: Civil Engineer

Experience: 3–7 Years

Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering – Mandatory

Location: Kolkata

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and execute day-to-day civil construction activities at project sites.

• Handle excavation, earthwork, PCC, RCC foundations and structural works.

• Supervise reinforcement, shuttering, concreting and curing activities.

• Execute and monitor brick/block masonry and plastering works.

• Supervise structural steel, trusses and roofing works.

• Handle flooring, paving, drainage and other allied civil works.

• Ensure proper alignment, levels, dimensions and slopes as per approved

drawings.

• Read and interpret civil, structural and architectural drawings.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, supervisors and site manpower.

• Monitor manpower, material requirements and daily work progress.

• Conduct site measurements and maintain Measurement Book (MB) and quantity

records.

• Assist in preparation and verification of BOQ, RA Bills and final bills.

• Monitor material consumption and ensure minimum wastage.

• Ensure construction work is carried out as per required quality standards and

specifications.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants and government/railway representatives as

required.

• Prepare DPR, progress reports, site records and inspection documents.

• Ensure compliance with site safety and HSE requirements.

• Identify site-related technical issues and coordinate for timely resolution.

• Ensure completion of assigned works within the specified time, cost and quality

parameters.

Preferred Experience

Candidates having experience in the following sectors will be preferred:

• Indian Railways / Railway Contractors

• Railway civil construction

• Railway station/platform works

• Infrastructure projects

• EPC projects

• Building and industrial construction

• RCC and structural construction projects

Candidates with hands-on site execution experience will be given preference over

candidates with only design/office-based experience.

Educational Qualification

Mandatory:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering

Experience Required

• Minimum Experience: 3 Years

• Preferred Experience: 4–7 Years

• Candidates with relevant Railway Civil Construction experience will be preferred.

• The candidate should preferably have experience independently handling site

execution and subcontractor coordination.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a Diploma Civil Engineer with 3–7 years of hands-on

construction experience, preferably in Railway/EPC/infrastructure projects. The

candidate should be capable of independently handling site execution, RCC, masonry,

structural steel, roofing, flooring, drainage, measurements, billing, manpower and

subcontractor coordination.
