We are developing a new food ecosystem where nutrition, food science, technology, personalization and intelligent manufacturing come together to create better products and scalable food systems.

Position

FoodTech Product Owner – Product Development & Innovation

Type: Equity-Based Founding Position

Work Mode: Part-Time / Remote

Compensation: Equity-based

Stage: Early-stage / R&D; and product development

Role Objective

Own the development of Kefilo's food technology products from concept to commercialisation — converting nutrition and consumer requirements into scalable, safe, commercially viable and technically differentiated food products.

Key Responsibilities1. Food Product Development

Own the complete product-development lifecycle from idea, formulation and prototyping to testing, optimization and launch.

- Product Roadmap

Build and manage the roadmap for Kefilo's food products, functional foods, nutrition-focused products and future FoodTech innovations.

- Formulation & Recipe Development

Work with food scientists, nutritionists and chefs to develop and optimize formulations based on nutrition, taste, texture, shelf life, cost and manufacturability.

- Product Testing

Coordinate sensory testing, nutritional evaluation, stability testing, shelf-life studies and other relevant product validation activities.

- Process Development

Translate successful formulations into repeatable production processes and work on process optimization, standardization and scale-up.

- Manufacturing Readiness

Ensure products can move from laboratory/kitchen-scale development to standardized commercial manufacturing while maintaining quality and consistency.

- Ingredient & Supplier Development

Work with the team to identify suitable ingredients, functional ingredients, suppliers, specifications and alternatives.

- Product Quality & Safety

Work with food safety and quality teams to establish product specifications, quality parameters, testing requirements and production controls.

- Cost & Commercialisation

Evaluate formulation cost, manufacturing cost, packaging, pricing feasibility and commercial viability before moving products toward launch.

- Cross-Functional Product Ownership





Coordinate food scientists, nutritionists, chefs, manufacturing partners, packaging teams, procurement, technology teams and business teams to move products from concept to market.

- Nutrition Intelligence Integration

Work with the Nutrition Intelligence team to identify opportunities where food products can be personalized based on nutritional requirements, health goals and user data.

- Innovation & IP

Identify new food technologies, formulations, processes, ingredients and product concepts that could create proprietary intellectual property for Kefilo.

Ideal Candidate

- Food Technology / Food Science / Food Engineering / Nutrition / Biotechnology or related background.




- Strong understanding of food product development.
- Experience taking food products from concept to production.
- Understanding of formulation, processing, sensory evaluation and food quality.
- Ability to work with food scientists, chefs, nutritionists and manufacturing teams.
- Strong commercial and product-development mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple product-development projects.
- Solid research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment.
- Willingness to take ownership rather than only execute assigned tasks.

The role is particularly suited to someone who wants to build a product function from an early stage rather than manage an established product portfolio.

Equity-Based Structure

This is an equity-based founding position.

There is no fixed salary at the current stage. Equity will be discussed based on experience, expertise, expected contribution, time commitment and long-term involvement with Kefilo.

We are looking for someone who wants to become an early owner and builder of Kefilo's FoodTech product ecosystem, not simply work as an external product consultant.

Expected Commitment

Part-time and remote.

The candidate should be able to provide consistent weekly contribution and participate in product-development, R&D;, manufacturing and strategic discussions.
