Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the OT, surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables before procedures.

- Assist the surgical and anesthesia teams during operations.

- Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and handling of surgical instruments.

- Check OT equipment, anesthesia machines, monitors, suction, cautery, and other devices for readiness.

- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control protocols.

- Assist with patient positioning and transfer as directed by the clinical team.

- Perform surgical instrument and swab counts according to hospital protocols.

- Handle specimens appropriately and ensure proper labeling and transfer.

- Clean, disinfect, and restock the OT after each procedure.

- Maintain OT records, checklists, and documentation.

- Monitor stock levels of surgical supplies and report shortages.

- Follow hospital policies, biomedical-waste management procedures, and safety protocols.





- Respond appropriately to emergencies and support the team during urgent procedures.

- Coordinate with CSSD, nursing, housekeeping, and other departments for smooth OT operations.

Qualifications

- Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent qualification.

- Relevant OT experience preferred; freshers may be considered depending on hospital requirements.

- Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization, infection control, and basic OT procedures.

Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of OT procedures and surgical instruments.

- Strong attention to detail and infection-control practices.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure.

- Valuable communication and teamwork skills.

- Willingness to work shifts, nights, weekends, and emergency duties.
