Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs, engineering calculations, and sketches into accurate 2D technical drawings and 3D models. You will work closely with cross-functional teamsincluding manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management—to ensure that all designs meet strict engineering standards, safety regulations, and production deadlines.Key Responsibilities

- Technical Drafting & Modeling: Generate high-quality, precise 2D manufacturing drawings, fabrication layouts, and 3D assembly models utilizing AutoCAD and related CAD software.

- Design Optimization: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) principles to ensure components fit, function, and align perfectly during assembly.

- Engineering Changes: Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) efficiently, updating legacy designs and documentation to reflect structural modifications or material swaps.

- Collaboration & Review: Partner with senior engineers to review design intents, perform tolerance stack-up analyses, and identify potential manufacturing constraints early in the cycle.





- BOM Management: Compile and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), component data sheets, and manufacturing documentation to streamline supply chain procurement.

- Standards Compliance: Ensure all drafts and designs comply strictly with company protocols, industry benchmarks (e.g., ASME, ISO), and regulatory safety requirements.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a strictly related technical field.

- Software Expertise: Minimum of [X] years of dedicated experience using AutoCAD (2D & 3D). Familiarity with parametric 3D software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Creo) is highly preferred.

- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, welding).

- Analytical Skills: Excellent spatial reasoning, mathematical aptitude, and problem-solving capabilities.

- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly explain complex technical drawings to shop-floor technicians and external clients.
