Role & responsibilities

- Assess and examine patients on admission and during duty hours.

- Handle emergency and critical situations promptly.

- Monitor patient vitals and clinical condition.

- Initiate treatment and medications as per hospital protocols and consultant advice.

- Perform basic procedures such as IV cannulation, Foleys catheterization, Ryle’s tube insertion, suturing, ECG, and ABG sampling as required.

- Attend to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency cases.

- Coordinate with consultants, nurses, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments.

- Prepare and maintain accurate patient case sheets and medical records.

- Review investigation reports and communicate critical findings to consultants.

- Ensure proper handover of patients between shifts.

- Follow hospital policies, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.
