- A Bachelor's degree or certification in video editing, film production, multimedia, visual communication or a related field
- Proficiency in video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightworks or Avid Media Composer
- Knowledge of video formats, codecs and containers
- Thorough understanding of video editing and production principles, such as colour grading and composition
- Familiarity with visual effects and motion graphics
- Prior experience as a video editor, either in a skilled setting or as a freelancer
- A portfolio showcasing previous video editing projects demonstrating your proficiency in different genres, styles and techniques
