Software Asset Management (SAM)

Location: Chennai

Experience: 6-8 Years

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain software asset inventory across the organization.
- Track software licenses, subscriptions, renewals, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct software audits and ensure adherence to licensing agreements.
- Monitor software usage and identify optimization opportunities to reduce costs.
- Coordinate with vendors for software procurement, renewals, and license management.
- Generate reports and dashboards related to software assets, compliance, and utilization.
- Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Security, and Finance teams for effective asset governance.
- Support software lifecycle management, including deployment, upgrades, and retirement.

Required Skills:

- Hands on experience in Software Asset Management (SAM)



or IT Asset Management (ITAM).
- Strong understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, etc.).
- Experience with SAM/ITAM tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of software compliance, audits, and asset lifecycle management.
- Positive analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience in software optimization and cost management initiatives.
- Exposure to enterprise IT environments and governance processes.
