17 - 22 years The RISE Director/Associate Director, under the supervision of the BDO RISE Managing Director/Practice Lead, will work collaboratively with the US Market Managing Principals (MMPs), US Executive Director and RISE Tax Operations Leader, and oversee the RISE tax team for their respective assigned Market, thereby enhancing the integration with RISE. Primarily focused on the business aspects of the tax integration, their duties encompass managing RISE resources utilized by all professionals in the US market, focusing on the quality of work and timeliness of turnaround, practice integration and productivity targets, business needs around resources management and offshoring strategies of US offices, at all levels.

This role is responsible for advising BDO USA clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary contact for complex tax issues with Engagement Signer. This role is charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognizing and communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy.

Responsibilities include maintaining client portfolio suitable for role specific time commitments, adjusted for the US market size.

- Clarity of client-ready questions and issue summaries

- A leader who can train the team with effective on-the-job training




- Ability to deploy existing team members to train colleagues on-the-job with project work to build needed skill set/experience.
- This is over and above simply signing up team members for scheduled trainings.

- Timely escalation of independence, scope, or client-service issues

Experience required

- Prior experience in working on Form 1065 or 1120
- Extensive experience in reviewing US partnership/corporation client tax returns and capable of performing managerial-level reviews on US tax filings.
- Oversee preparation and review of complex U.S. tax returns (Form 1065/1120), including multi-state and international tax filings.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on U.S. tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, and optimization strategies.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Drive performance management, coaching, and career development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency and client experience.
- Develop a team of tax associates and seniors, provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to enhance performance and career growth.
- Additional skillset of passthrough returns would be an advantage.
- Experience in recruiting and building a team. Understanding of financial statements and the underlying supporting workpapers.
