We are looking for an experienced Store Manager to take complete ownership of the plant Stores, Warehouse, Inventory and Materials Management function at our Dadri facility. The role will be responsible for ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, effective warehouse operations, high-value material control, ERP management, MOOWR and statutory compliance, audit readiness, documentation, inventory optimization and team leadership.The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing Stores in a manufacturing/industrial plant environment, with the ability to work closely with Production, Procurement, Finance, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, EHS, Customs and senior management.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Plant Stores & Inventory Management

- Lead and manage the complete Stores and Inventory function for the plant.
- Manage receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issue, return, transfer and dispatch of materials.
- Control inventory of raw materials, consumables, spares, packaging materials, finished goods and other plant materials.
- Establish and monitor minimum/maximum stock levels, reorder levels and safety stock.
- Ensure accurate bin-wise, location-wise and system-wise inventory.
- Implement effective FIFO/FEFO, material identification and traceability practices.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted plant operations.

1. Material & High-Value Inventory Control

- Establish strong controls for high-value raw materials, metals, battery materials, critical spares and other sensitive inventory.
- Ensure proper weighing, identification, documentation and reconciliation of materials.
- Monitor material movement and prevent loss, wastage, damage, pilferage and unauthorized movement.
- Ensure complete traceability of material from receipt to consumption/dispatch.
- Coordinate with Production and Finance for material consumption and reconciliation.

1. Scrap & Recyclable Material Management

- Manage segregation, identification, weighing, storage and reconciliation of scrap and recyclable materials.
- Maintain accurate records of scrap generation, movement and disposal.
- Ensure proper authorization and documentation for scrap disposal.
- Reconcile physical scrap quantities with system and operational records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company and statutory requirements.

1. MOOWR & Statutory Compliance

- Manage and ensure compliance with MOOWR (Manufacture and Other Operations in Warehouse) requirements, wherever applicable.
- Maintain proper records and documentation related to MOOWR, bonded inventory and material movement.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of materials received, consumed, processed and accounted for under applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with Customs, consultants, Finance and relevant internal teams for MOOWR-related matters.
- Ensure timely preparation and availability of required records, statements, returns and supporting documents.




- Monitor changes in applicable statutory/regulatory requirements and ensure necessary compliance actions.
- Maintain complete documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.

1. Audit & Compliance Management

- Take ownership of Stores-related audit compliance.
- Coordinate internal, external, statutory, financial, ISO and compliance audits.
- Ensure audit observations are properly investigated, corrective actions are implemented and closures are documented.
- Maintain proper records for stock verification, reconciliation, material movement, adjustments, write-offs and disposal.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs, authorization matrix, internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Maintain the Stores function in an audit-ready condition at all times.

1. ERP, SAP & MIS Management

- Ensure accurate and timely transactions in SAP/ERP/WMS.
- Monitor GRN/MRN, material issues, returns, transfers, stock adjustments and other inventory transactions.
- Ensure physical stock and system stock are regularly reconciled.
- Develop and review inventory MIS, ageing reports, stock statements and management dashboards.
- Ensure accurate master data, material codes, storage locations and inventory records.
- Drive system discipline and continuous improvement in Stores processes.

1. Inventory Optimization & Cost Control

- Optimize inventory levels and minimize excess, obsolete, slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
- Monitor inventory ageing and develop action plans for liquidation/consumption.
- Improve warehouse utilization, storage layout and material flow.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, loss prevention and working-capital optimization.
- Monitor inventory variances and implement corrective actions.

1. Team Management & Leadership

- Lead and manage the Stores/Warehouse team, including supervisors, storekeepers and material-handling personnel.
- Plan manpower deployment and allocate responsibilities based on operational requirements.
- Establish team KRAs/KPIs and monitor performance.
- Train employees on SOPs, ERP, inventory control, safety, documentation and material handling.
- Build a culture of accountability, discipline, safety and continuous improvement.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Plant Head, Production, Procurement, Finance, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics and EHS.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Coordinate with Finance for inventory valuation, reconciliation and audit requirements.




- Support Production and Maintenance teams with material planning and availability.
- Escalate critical shortages, inventory risks, compliance issues and material variances to management.

1. Documentation, Reporting & Presentation

- Maintain accurate and complete Stores, Inventory, Material Movement and Compliance documentation.
- Prepare regular MIS, inventory dashboards, stock reconciliation and ageing reports.
- Prepare management reports covering inventory status, material availability, variances, critical materials, ageing, audit status and compliance.
- Present Stores performance, key issues and improvement initiatives to senior management.
- Ensure all SOPs, registers, checklists, reports and supporting documents are properly maintained.

1. Safety, 5S & Warehouse Management

- Ensure high standards of 5S, housekeeping and safety within Stores and Warehouse areas.
- Ensure safe stacking, handling and storage of materials.
- Ensure appropriate storage and handling practices for hazardous, sensitive or regulated materials, wherever applicable.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Plant Stores, Warehouse and Inventory Management.
- Strong knowledge of Materials Management and Inventory Control.
- Practical knowledge of MOOWR and bonded warehouse operations/compliance will be highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Customs/Statutory compliance and documentation related to warehouse/material operations.
- Robust experience in audit compliance and internal controls.
- Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP/WMS.
- Strong MS Excel, MIS and data-analysis skills.
- Good PowerPoint/presentation and management reporting skills.
- Strong knowledge of inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, FIFO/FEFO and inventory ageing.
- Experience handling high-value materials, metals, battery materials, spares and consumables.
- Strong team leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- High level of compliance orientation, attention to detail and accountability.

Qualification & Experience

- Graduate in any discipline.
- B.Tech/B.E. preferred, especially Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial, Metallurgy or related disciplines.
- 9 Years 17 years of relevant experience in Stores, Materials, Warehouse or Inventory Management.
- Prior experience in a managerial/leadership role in a manufacturing or industrial plant is preferred.
- Experience in metals, battery, battery recycling, recycling, manufacturing, automotive, chemical, heavy engineering or sustainable materials will be preferred.
- Experience in MOOWR, bonded warehouse, customs or statutory compliance will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in team management, ERP, inventory control, audit compliance and plant Stores operations.
