We are seeking a senior MS SQL Database Administrator to own the availability, performance, integrity, and recoverability of a diverse database estate spanning Azure SQL, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. This role is handson, with responsibilities split across performance tuning, backup and recovery, and supporting delivery teams through change. You will be the expert who understands how databases behave under load and ensures they remain reliable in multitenant environments.

Key responsibilities include administering and monitoring production databases, configuring highavailability and replication setups, and automating routine maintenance. You will perform query optimization, diagnose performance issues using execution plans and wait statistics,



and proactively manage capacity. Protecting data integrity through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices is essential, as is enforcing security controls such as access management and encryption.

Solid communication, critical thinking, and the ability to make sound technical judgments under pressure are vital. Experience with scripting, automation, and AIassisted tooling is expected. This role offers real ownership, accountability, and the opportunity to improve a complex, multiplatform estate at scale.
