nRole Overview

nThe SEN Teacher supports young learners with developmental delays, learning difficulties, or special educational needs by providing early intervention, individualized instruction, and inclusive classroom support in a nurturing and structured environment.

nKey Responsibilities

n1. Student Support & Early Intervention

n

n
- Identify and support children with developmental, learning, behavioural, or social challenges.
n
- Conduct age-appropriate observations, screenings, and informal assessments.
n
- Plan and implement early intervention strategies to support cognitive, language, motor, and social development.
n

n2. Individualized Education Planning

n

n
- Develop, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
n
- Set achievable short-term and long-term goals based on each child’s needs.
n
- Monitor progress and adapt interventions accordingly.
n

n3. Classroom & Inclusive Support

n

n
- Work closely with pre-primary teachers to implement inclusive classroom strategies.
n
- Provide in-class support, small-group instruction, or pull-out sessions as required.
n
- Support classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
n

n4. Parent & Team Collaboration

n

n
- Conduct regular meetings with parents to discuss progress and strategies.
n




- Guide parents on home-based support techniques and routines.
n
- Collaborate with therapists, counsellors, and external specialists when required.
n

n5. Documentation & Reporting

n

n
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, IEPs, progress notes, and interventions.
n
- Prepare reports for internal reviews, audits, and parent meetings.
n
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of student information.
n

n6. Behaviour & Emotional Support

n

n
- Support children with emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioural challenges.
n
- Implement positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behaviour plans.
n
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and emotionally secure learning workplace.
n

nQualifications & Skills

nEducation

n

n
- Diploma / Bachelor’s / Master’s in Special Education (Early Intervention preferred).
n
- RCI certification (mandatory where applicable).
n

nExperience

n

n
- 2–5 years of experience working with early years children with special needs.
n

nKey Skills

n

n
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and SEN strategies.
n
- Expertise in early intervention, play-based learning, and sensory integration.
n
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
n
- Patience, empathy, and a child-centric approach.
