Role Description The Sound Editing Intern role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The intern will assist sound editors with organizing, cleaning, and editing audio files for film, video, podcasts, and other media projects. Daily tasks include syncing audio to picture, applying basic sound design techniques, preparing dialogue, effects, and ambience tracks, and supporting the mix and mastering process under supervision.

The role also involves maintaining project documentation, managing file structures, and collaborating with the creative team to ensure audio meets artistic and technical standards.



The intern will have opportunities to learn industry workflows, gain hands-on experience with professional tools, and contribute to real client projects.

Qualifications

- Foundational skills in audio editing and sound design, with the ability to cut, arrange, and enhance audio tracks.
- Experience or familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Logic Pro, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of mixing and mastering concepts, including levels, EQ, dynamics, and noise reduction.
- Attention to detail and strong listening skills to identify timing, tonal, and quality issues in audio.
- Ability to follow creative direction, take feedback constructively, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills for managing sessions, file naming, and version control within projects.
- Interest in storytelling through sound, with a passion for film, television, games, or podcast production.
- Relevant coursework, certification, or training in audio engineering, sound design, music production, or media preferred.
- Willingness to learn on the job, adapt to studio workflows, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production setting.
