About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer specializing in Ruby to join our client's dynamic team remotely. This full time position focuses on evaluating and validating large language models (LLMs) in the context of software engineering tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ruby development, experience working with open-source codebases, and a keen interest in AI and machine learning applications. The role involves analyzing real-world code repositories, setting up reproducible testing environments, and collaborating with AI researchers to enhance LLM performance on complex programming challenges.

Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Proficiency in Git for version control, Docker for containerization, and familiarity with software pipeline setup is essential. Candidates should have the ability to understand and modify complex codebases, run tests locally, and evaluate code quality using relevant tools.

Experience with Ruby testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest, gem management via Bundler, and familiarity with open-source contributions will be considered advantageous. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment are also important.

Responsibilities





- Analyze and triage issues reported in GitHub repositories across trending open-source libraries to identify relevant evaluation scenarios for LLM testing.
- Set up and configure code repositories, including creating Docker containers and preparing environments to ensure reproducible testing conditions.
- Assess unit test coverage and quality metrics to determine the baseline health of codebases and the robustness of test suites.
- Modify, run, and troubleshoot Ruby codebases locally to evaluate the performance of language models in bug fixing and code completion tasks.
- Collaborate closely with AI researchers to select repositories and issues that present challenging cases for language models, contributing to the development of evaluation benchmarks.
