The Role

We are hiring a Software Engineer to build the platform behind the coverage.

Aerospace is unusually rich in hard, checkable facts. Aircraft programs have specifications, certification paths, test campaigns, and launch dates, and most of that lives in scattered regulatory filings, company releases, and public records. Turning that into a structured reference our writers and readers can rely on is the most interesting engineering problem here, and it is what separates a publication engineers trust from one they correct in the comments.

You will build the backend services and APIs behind the site, and the data layer underneath: programs, vehicles, certifications, test milestones, launches, and the organizations behind them. On top of that sit the things readers keep coming back to, whether that is a certification tracker, a launch schedule, or a comparison page that is actually accurate.

You will work directly with editors. In a technical publication, engineering and editorial quality are the same problem, and the tools you build determine how easily a writer can check a claim before it goes out.

What You Will Do

Design, build, and operate the backend services and APIs behind the platform.





Build and maintain the data layer for aircraft programs, vehicles, organizations, certifications, and milestones.

Integrate external data sources and handle the fact that they are inconsistent and go stale.

Build internal tools that help editors research, verify, and publish.

Ship reader-facing data products: trackers, timelines, and reference pages.

Own performance and reliability, including how the site holds up when a story lands.

Own quality through tests, code review, monitoring, and debugging production issues.

Contribute to architecture decisions and document them.

Improve tooling and workflow so the team ships faster.

What You Will Need

2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with production systems you have shipped and maintained.

Robust fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Proficiency in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, Java, Go, or a comparable modern language.

Solid backend experience, including APIs and database integration.

Comfort designing data models for a domain with a lot of detail and a lot of exceptions.

Fluency with Git, testing frameworks, and modern development tooling.

Strong debugging instincts and the discipline to write code someone else can maintain.

Clear communication with people who are not engineers,



since your users are editors.

The self-direction to work well on a distributed team.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Data pipeline work, especially with public records, regulatory filings, or other unreliable sources.

Experience building reference data or catalog systems where correctness matters.

Frontend ability, enough to ship a tracker or comparison page yourself.

Experience with a content management system or publishing platform.

Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus deployment pipelines.

Applications built on LLMs, for search, summarization, or editorial tooling.

Real interest in aerospace, aviation, drones, or space. This one counts for more than it usually does.

Why This Role

Most media engineering is a content management system with a theme on top. This is closer to building a reference database in a technical domain, published to an audience that will tell you immediately when it is wrong.

If aerospace is something you read about anyway, this is a rare chance to work on it every day without an aerospace engineering degree, and the team is small enough that you will own systems rather than tickets.

Working Here

Remote, based in India. You choose where you work from.

Compensation is ₹12,00,000 to ₹18,00,000 per annum, set by experience and demonstrated engineering ability.
