Site Engineer Shipbuilding-01 Nos

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day shipbuilding and ship repair activities at the site.

- Coordinate hull fabrication, block erection, structural assembly, piping, mechanical, electrical, and marine outfitting activities as applicable.

- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, work instructions, and method statements before execution.

- Monitor subcontractors and site workforce to ensure work is completed according to project schedules.

- Inspect workmanship and verify dimensions, alignment, welding, fit-up, installation, and material usage.

- Coordinate with production, design, planning, quality, procurement, and HSE teams to resolve site issues.

- Identify technical problems, deviations, and clashes and coordinate corrective actions.

- Prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests, work completion records, and other site documentation.

- Track material availability and coordinate with stores/procurement teams to avoid work delays.

- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, applicable marine standards, class requirements, and project specifications.

- Support inspections by the client, classification society, and other authorized agencies.

- Monitor punch-list items and ensure timely closure.

- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and shipyard HSE standards.

- Participate in toolbox meetings, progress meetings, and technical coordination meetings.

- Assist with testing, commissioning, trials, and final handover activities when required.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily shipbuilding, ship repair, fabrication, erection, and outfitting activities.

- Allocate work to welders, fitters, fabricators, riggers, pipe fitters, and other site personnel.

- Monitor manpower, productivity, work progress, and material utilization.

- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, procedures, and instructions.

- Supervise hull block assembly, steel fabrication, erection, welding, piping, machinery installation, and marine outfitting as applicable.

- Check fit-up, alignment, dimensions, welding preparation, and installation quality.

- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Production Engineers, Quality Control, Planning, Stores, and HSE teams.

- Report site problems, delays, material shortages, and technical issues to the responsible engineer or manager.

- Ensure required materials, tools, equipment, and consumables are available before starting work.

- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure workers follow shipyard safety procedures.

- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with permit-to-work and other HSE requirements.

- Maintain valuable housekeeping and safe working conditions at the worksite.

- Coordinate lifting, shifting, scaffolding, access, and other support activities when required.

- Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with project requirements.

- Assist QC/QA personnel during inspections and rectify identified defects.

- Maintain daily work records, manpower reports, progress reports, and material usage records.

- Follow up on punch-list items and ensure timely completion.
