Role Summary The Site Engineer (Passive Fire Protection) is responsible for supervising and executing all passive fire protection works at the project site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, manufacturer guidelines, and relevant codes. The role involves coordinating with contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely, safe, and quality installation of firestop systems, fireproofing, PFP coating, and related works.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

- Execute and supervise installation of passive fire protection systems (firestopping, fireproofing, PFP coatings, boards, wraps, sealants, etc.).
- Ensure work is completed as per approved drawings, method statements, and standard details.
- Monitor daily site progress and manage the workforce to achieve targets.

1. Quality Assurance & Compliance

- Ensure PFP installation meets manufacturer specifications, UL/ASTM listings, and local fire norms.
- Conduct inspections and prepare quality documentation (checklists, WIR, RFI, etc.).
- Check opening sizes, penetration details, service types, and substrate conditions before installation.
- Take measurements, prepare BOQs, and verify material consumption.

1. Coordination

- Coordinate with client/site engineers, MEP teams, contractors, and consultants.
- Attend site coordination meetings and update project status.
- Ensure smooth material handling, storage, and timely availability on-site.

1. Documentation

- Prepare daily progress reports, DPR,



photographs, and installation logs.
- Maintain records of approved systems, drawings, and project documentation.
- Support preparation of as-built drawings, reports, and handover documents.

1. Safety Management

- Ensure safety protocols are followed during installation activities.
- Conduct toolbox talks related to PFP works and safe handling of materials.

Skills & Competencies Required

- Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and firestopping standards.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Knowledge of UL, ASTM, EN standards (preferred).
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, reporting, documentation).
- Problem-solving attitude and site execution capability.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma / Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Fire, or related engineering field.
- 1–5 years of experience in Passive Fire Protection / Firestop / MEP projects.
- Freshers with relevant training may also apply.
- Experience with sealants, mortars, wraps, collars, coatings, and fireproofing systems preferred.

Additional Requirements

- Willingness to travel and work at various project sites.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Candidates with relevant Passive Fire Protection / Firestop experience will be preferred.
