Position Summary

Northstar Safety Systemz Pvt. Ltd. is hiring experienced Safety Supervisors for deployment at manufacturing plants of a leading cable manufacturing company in Gujarat.

The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for shop-floor safety and safe plant operations across shifts, including safety rounds, work permit verification, Toolbox Talks, equipment inspections, identification of unsafe acts/conditions, incident reporting and corrective actions.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma in Engineering Mechanical / Electrical / Civil / equivalent discipline
- PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) or ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) from a recognised institute.
- Candidates with B.Sc. and strong relevant experience may be considered in exceptional cases.

Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Safety within an engineering industry or projects environment.
- Prior experience in imparting safety training to contract workmen is essential.
- Manufacturing plant experience will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities

- Conduct continuous safety rounds during every shift.
- Identify and prevent unsafe acts and unsafe conditions involving employees and contractors.
- Ensure Toolbox Talks (TBT) / PEP Talks are conducted effectively.




- Conduct plant safety inspections and report observations through the ETQ system.
- Verify compliance with inspection checklists and site safety requirements.
- Cross-verify closure of safety observations.
- Verify Permit to Work (PTW) compliance for hot work, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and project activities.

Periodic & Ongoing Responsibilities
- Inspect forklifts, cranes, welding machines, lifting equipment, machine guards, tools and tackles, and electrical work.
- Maintain relevant inspection records.
- Conduct On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new workmen.
- Organise safety awareness and promotional campaigns.
- Report incidents and accidents and participate in initial investigations.
- Initiate immediate corrective actions where required.
- Conduct monthly localised mock drills.
- Submit monthly safety reports.
- Perform other safety activities assigned by the Engineer-In-Charge.

Working Conditions
- 8 hours per day, 6 days per week
- Shift working required.
- Willingness to work on Sundays and holidays as per site requirements.
- No continuous duty beyond 12 hours except during critical jobs/emergencies.
- Compensatory off will be provided where applicable.
