Position: Staff Nurse
Qualification
BSc Nursing (mandatory). Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN, RM) license with Tamil Nadu Nursing Council or equivalent, valid and current.
Experience
Freshers welcome; prior experience in psychiatric, de-addiction, or critical care nursing preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by consulting psychiatrists, following facility protocols and MHA 2017 guidelines. Monitor vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and behavioral changes in patients undergoing de-addiction and psychiatric treatment. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Assist in managing psychiatric emergencies and de-addiction withdrawal complications under physician guidance. Coordinate with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and counselors as part of the multidisciplinary care team.
Support patient hygiene, nutrition, and daily living activities where required.
Participate in rotational shifts, including night duty as per roster. Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients.
Skills Required
Sound clinical nursing skills and drug administration knowledge. Ability to handle patients with psychiatric conditions and substance dependency with patience and empathy. Positive communication skills in Tamil and English. Basic computer literacy for maintaining digital patient records. Ability to work calmly under pressure, including in emergency situations.
