Job Summary: -

We are looking for a Quality Engineer responsible for maintaining and improving product and process quality in Machine Shop and PDC (Pressure Die Casting) operations. The candidate will be responsible for process inspection, quality control, documentation, root cause analysis, customer quality requirements, and implementation of quality tools and systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Shop Quality

- Monitor and control quality of machined components as per drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform in-process, first-piece and final inspection of components.
- Inspect critical dimensions using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Coordinate and perform dimensional inspection through CMM.
- Monitor machining processes and identify dimensional/process variations.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
- Support rejection, rework and defect analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper handling, calibration and traceability of measuring instruments.

1. PDC / Pressure Die Casting Quality





- Monitor quality of PDC components from casting through machining and final inspection.
- Inspect casting defects such as porosity, blow holes, cracks, cold shuts, shrinkage, flash/burr, surface defects and dimensional variation.
- Monitor critical casting parameters and coordinate with Production for process improvement.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection of PDC components.
- Coordinate with production teams for containment and corrective action on quality issues.
- Support analysis of casting-related defects and reduction of rejection/rework.

1. Quality Systems & Core Quality Tool

- Prepare and maintain PPAP documentation as per customer requirements.
- Prepare/review APQP documents and support current product development activities.
- Prepare and review PFMEA for manufacturing processes.
- Develop and monitor Control Plans and inspection standards.
- Implement SPC for critical process and product characteristics.
- Conduct and maintain MSA / Gauge R&R; studies.
- Apply 7 QC Tools for defect analysis and process improvement.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis using appropriate problem-solving techniques.
- Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.

1. Laboratory & Measurement Activities

- Operate/use CMM, Spectrometer and precision measuring instruments as applicable.
- Perform material/chemical composition verification through Spectrometer where required.
- Ensure measurement accuracy and proper calibration of gauges and instruments.
- Maintain calibration records and identify instruments due for calibration.
- Verify components against engineering drawings, GD&T; requirements and inspection standards.
