Job Summary

We are looking for an Experienced QA/QC Engineer with hands-on experience in marine piping, shipbuilding, fabrication and mechanical works. The candidate will be responsible for quality inspection of piping fabrication, installation, welding, testing and related activities. The role requires ensuring that all work complies with approved drawings, project specifications, class requirements and applicable marine standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

-Conduct QA/QC inspections for marine piping, shipbuilding, fabrication, welding and mechanical works.

- Inspect piping materials, dimensions, fit-up, alignment, supports, installation and traceability as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and inspect welding activities, including fit-up, welding parameters, consumables and visual inspection.
- Coordinate and monitor NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT and PT as applicable.
- Review WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, material certificates and inspection documentation.
- Prepare and maintain ITPs, checklists, inspection reports, NCRs and quality records.
- Coordinate inspections with production teams, piping supervisors, subcontractors, clients and classification society surveyors.
- Witness and coordinate hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing, flushing, cleaning and leak testing as applicable.
- Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective/preventive actions and punch-list closure.




- Verify final piping installation and documentation before mechanical completion and handover.
- Maintain complete Quality Dossiers / Turnover Dossiers and support client, class and internal audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable shipbuilding standards, class requirements, project specifications and approved drawings.

Education

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Production Engineering or related field.
- QA/QC Certification required.

Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of marine piping, shipbuilding, fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, piping isometric drawings, fabrication drawings and engineering drawings.
- Positive knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITP, WPS/PQR, NCR, inspection reports and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of NDT methods, pressure testing and marine inspection practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office and project planning/management tools, with good communication and coordination skills.

Experience 3+ years of relevant experience preferred, particularly in piping QC, shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore or marine projects.

Preferred Certifications

- CSWIP / AWS Welding Inspection Certification – preferred.
- NDT Level II certification in relevant methods – an advantage.
- Knowledge of IACS / Classification Society requirements and marine inspection practices – preferred.
